The Rideau Trail runs from Kingston to Ottawa ending at Richmond Landing behind Parliament Hill. The immigrants who settled what became Richmond landed here. Linda and I hope to walk some of the trail over the summer. We started with the short walk along the paved path from The War Museum, past The Mill restaurant to Richmond Landing. Construction prevented us from photographing the brass plaque at trail end. The construction is for a Canadian Navy monument. We found no markers stating this was the Rideau Trail but it follows exactly what is indicated on the map in the booklet we bought. The path here is run by the NCC so there are probably rules about naming. It is also part of the Trans Canada Trail.
